The AI Enablement Community of Practice brings together people from across UC to explore, support, and guide how we use artificial intelligence in teaching, research, and daily work.
AI is changing higher education and the workplace. This group helps UC make sense of these changes, share resources, and ensure AI is used responsibly and effectively.
We focus on projects and conversations that make AI easier, safer, and more useful for everyone at UC:
Provide guidance on choosing and using AI tools.
Share training and resources so faculty, staff, and students can build AI skills.
Encourage collaboration across colleges and departments.
Promote ethical, and transparent use of AI.
Our work covers several priority areas:
Enterprise AI Platforms | Supporting campuswide access to secure tools like Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT.
Teaching, Learning, and Research | Exploring how AI can improve classrooms, labs, and scholarly work.
Collaboration and Partnerships | Bringing people together across disciplines and institutions to tackle big challenges with AI.
Ethics and Equity | Making sure AI supports fairness, accessibility, and engagement at UC.
Policy and Governance | Developing clear standards and practices for safe, responsible AI use.
The AIECOP is made up of subcommittees, each focusing on a different area:
