New Imaging Research & Development Center opens on UC’s medical campus
At the University of Cincinnati, we believe the most important question about artificial intelligence isn't "what can it do?" but "what should it do?" While our engineers and computer scientists build next-generation machine learning models, our ethicists, social scientists, and policy experts are shaping the frameworks to guide them. This holistic approach ensures that the pursuit of technological advancement is deeply intertwined with a commitment to fairness, transparency, and human values. We aren't just creating smarter machines; we are cultivating a new generation of leaders who will build a more responsible, equitable, and intelligent world for all.
Dr. Kelly Cohen, professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at the University of Cincinnati, has been awarded the King-Sun Fu Award for achievements in fuzzy systems and AI from the North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society (NAFIPS).
Awarded by the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR),
the King-Sun Fu Prize is one of the highest international honors in the
field of pattern recognition and artificial intelligence, recognizing
outstanding lifetime technical contributions.
